Score of the Century x 2

Score of the Century x 2

This last weekend afforded me two fantastic finds, and they couldn’t have come at a more perfect time! I’ve been running low on vintage camera stuff for awhile, but not any more, thanks to a mega haul of over 40+ vintage cameras from 35mm to more obscure format cameras from the 1920s & 30s. The camera score came with another mega score that I am still reeling over. In addition to the amazing camera selection, I was lucky enough to acquire over a hundred packs of Polaroid 600 film.

I have had dreams where I find this much film! Never thought it would ever happen in real life!

For those of us that shoot Polaroid film, and know the total crap shoot that shooting expired film can be, as well as the crap shoot shooting the new Impossible Poject film can be, having any amount of this film on hand is a miracle. Having a bomb shelter’s supply is like Christmas day every time I glance in the direction of the boxes!  I have a few great ideas for sharing this film with the public that I’ll write more about when we get closer to sunnier days and warmer weather.

The second great score of the weekend comes in two parts! I’ve also been super low on quality comic books. Well, scratch that off the shortage list thanks to a new friend of the shop who brought in several hundred comics yesterday!  I was able to acquire them all and have spent the last 10 hours in a bagging/boarding/nerding out frenzy going through these great titles! Lots of 1970s with some great off beat titles, and nostalgic cover art.

T-Rex is my nickname thanks to my tiny arms so of course this comic is extra special to me!

If you or anyone you know is in to 70s DC & Marvel as well as the Creature tales, etc. this collection is a must see as they are priced and head onto the floor shortly!

To top it all off, the gentleman also had a collection of 1960s & 1970s Underground / Pulp comics from the likes of R. Crumb, Art Spiegelman, Gilbert Shelton and more. I have never seen such a fantastic collection and have the extreme pleasure of presenting this collection to the public for the first time since the 1970s. I’ll do a more detailed post on the collection soon!

In the mean time, stop by this week- I’m open all week to accommodate Holiday shopping, and I’ll be putting comics & cameras out as of this morning! Lots of good stuff to geek out on! :)

See you soon!
